Sugar Dissolve Lab Report

The purpose of this lab was to find the effect of different types of liquids on the ability for sugar to dissolve. It was predicted that water and rubbing alcohol would dissolve the sugar but vegetable oil wouldn’t. Sugar was stirred into different liquids to see if the sugar would dissolve in two minutes. The data shows that the water was the only liquid that dissolved the sugar. After conducting the experiment, the hypothesis was proven incorrect. It was hypothesized that the sugar would dissolve in both water and rubbing alcohol, but the sugar did not dissolve in rubbing alcohol.

A possible source of an experimental error is that not all of the sugar may have been dumped in or one solvent had more sugar than the other by not measuring
