In order to provide services, funds are needed. Consequently, the first objective is to generate revenue. Taxes from various sources are the main supply of funds and include property taxes, sales taxes, lodging taxes, and gasoline taxes to name a few. Acquiring the statistical data each month, the County Executive can easily analyze the information and be prepared to make recommendations to the Commission with regards to needed adjustments.…
Deborah has taken steps to improve her accuracy in her daily entry. She takes any mistake personally and strives to complete her tasks error free. Even though the results were higher than the goal, the results were influenced by a change in our processing of freight which caused these records to be created in Image Now much earlier than before even though no invoice was available for processing. This added 15 to 25 days of processing time from creation of the record to confirmation in M2M.…

The world does not stop spinning when the Senate of the United States is in recess. However, vacancies in governmental positions do appear and need appointment. Since the Senate cannot carry out the task while in recess, Article II of the Constitution gives the president the “power to fill up all vacancies that may happen during the recess of the Senate, by granting commissions which shall expire at the end of their next session.” The president has the “sole authority” to temporarily fill such positions without Senate approval so as to maintain the flow of governmental action. However, the Senate can be in a pro forma session that prevents the president from making appointments due to the fact that the Senate is technically in session.…
In the case EEOC v. Insurance Company of North America, the issue was determining whether or not Mr. Pugh was discriminated because of his age. He had applied for the position of loss control representative with the Insurance Company of North America, and was not given a interview because he was overqualified. Mr. Pugh then decided to file a court case against the company for age discrimination. I can see why Mr. Pugh would file for age discrimination because he did have more than enough qualifications to get the job, and some might believe that sets them above other candidates. He did fall under the age group for age discrimination which is another reason why he might of felt discriminated upon.…

The reason I stand for the HR 1227 bill, is because I believe that people want marijuana for all of the wrong reasons. Even though this drug is used for health purposes, there are other ways for people to access this drug for other purposes. As a matter of fact, it would actually be easier for certain kinds of people to access this drug, if this bill didn’t get passed. You also need to look at the jurisdiction standpoint. If we allow this law to pass we would potentially stop things from getting confused.…
The Industrial Revolution was a time of modification for the United States of America. The old ways of life were scrapped, melted down, and reformed into a powerful machine of industry. But as the economy and boomed, society rotted and decayed. Poverty was rampant everywhere and death infested the cities.…
In Pamela Sanderson’s contemporary romance novel Heartbeat Braves, Rayanne Larson is an employee at Crooked Rock Urban Indian Center– and she’s fiercely dedicated to her occupation. Larson goes above and beyond to ensure that the center is a success, and she is none too pleased when Henry Grant, the nephew of the center’s leader, is given her role as a project coordinator. Larson indicates that this is the “story of her life” (Sanderson 13), that “for every penny she put in, someone else got to take three pennies out. [Larson] came up with the idea, or wrote the grant, or did the presentation. Someone else got the credit or the project” (Sanderson 13).…

According to Finzen (2003, Feb. 11), “The tort reform campaign has gained much wider acceptance, however, in the jury box. Many jurors now treat as self-evident the notion that the nation is plagued with “frivolous” lawsuits and outrageous jury verdicts. The rich and greedy plaintiff's lawyer has become a part of American folklore” (Finzen, 2003 Feb. 11). In this paper I am going to be talking about the relevant law of this case, the applicable facts of this case, and whether this case suggests the need for tort reform. Relevant Law of This Case…
