Successful Tips For College Students

With 168 hours in one week, the average amount of hours that a student should be in class is twelve hours and fifteen should be used studying. Many students go to college, but only 28% actually graduate from college. But why is that? Because they lack the determination and are not “focused”. Successful tips for undergraduates students include going to class, setting a schedule, making commitments, having mentors, not procrastinating, setting goals, being engaging, and taking tests well. With these skills, I have all of the necessary abilities to graduate from college. The most important rule is to go to class. Every class missed is two points lost on the next test. One must be mentally, physically, and emotionally there. Also to be ready for class, I need the necessary tools like a pencil and a notebook. To focus, it is a clever idea to not sit by my friends because I might get distracted. Although this is a small action, posture counts. If one is fully engaged, then the heart rate, body temperature, and respiration rate will increase. To actively listen, I will take deep breaths and have an open mind to what my professor is saying. Instead of just using my soft listening skills, I need to utilize my hard listening skills and actually comprehend what my professor is instructing me about. Paying attention, thinking critically, analyzing, and asking questions will help me stay on track. Furthermore, there should be no judgments coming from me because everything that is done by the teacher is for my learning benefit. Even if I am stuck in a situation, it is up to me to fix it.
