I would like to participate in the bridges to success program because it will assist me tremendously in my journey to a better future. Without the program I would encounter financial adversity and go through the tedious process of achieving my educational goals alone. On the other hand, with the program, I would have a constant day to day reminder that someone believed in me and because of that, I was able to get to where I 'm at, and for me, that is more than enough motivation to keep me going. My freshman year of high school was one of the most difficult, as it is for many people. I was trying to adapt to the new feeling of independence that was gained and the workload that came with it and I was also, simultaneously, trying to find my place in life and discover who I am. Who do I aspire to be? Where do I see myself 10 years from now? What do I plan on doing after graduation? These are just a few of the questions that were thrown my way by my teachers, my peers, and myself almost daily. These were the questions that haunted me and kept me up at night. They were always lurking in the back of my mind and I always had the same answer for all of them: I don’t know. That was all I could say, I don’t know, so I took it upon myself to ask my friends the same questions, but the outcome wasn’t quite what I had expected. They all had a plan or at least had something figured out for themselves. This made me feel worse than ever.
