Being raised in a Nigerian household, I learned that success requires dedication, but a successful person also inspires others to be dedicated. I knew that my parents could not pay for four children to attend college, and I could have worried all day and night thinking about how I going to get through college financially. That did not stop me, however, from taking the responsibility onto myself and striking when the opportunity arises. Repeating scientific facts outloud like a broken record or having an independent study session for four additional hours are things I would do given an extra day before the exam. One goal that is greater than my personal aspirations is to have a direct impact on my community so that children can have another person to relate to. This could then inspire them to strive for greatness and not settle for an easier path.

Arriving at college, performing my best in classes, establishing relationships with professors, and helping the community are all aspects I believe makes an excellent student.
