Finding Success in Failure Today we live in a world that is defined by success, but what is success really? We’ve created a society that thrives on being the elite, the successful and in some cases will do anything to achieve what they have defined a success. For some success may be money, or the executive position at a company, for others it’s having a family or doing what they love. Whatever you define success as I believe that through hard work and determination anyone can achieve success in whatever they choose. It is everyone’s goal whether they realize it or not to achieve something that they define as success but what really defines success? The dictionary simply defines failure as a lack of success but it is possible if you look at the situation differently that you never truly fail at anything. What leads to failure is quitting; if you don’t even try to get something out of it and continue trying to achieve your goals then you will continue being successful. Even if whatever you are pursing isn’t going as planned and won’t turn out there are many other ways to find success in this. “Failure” can lead to the formation and development of new ideas and concepts, it can help to create more motivated and stronger work ethics, and can also provide one with a learning experience as a whole. By learning from the little things that go wrong can help to develop new ideas further and give new approaches to go about different situations. Such as with science, many of the newer elements have been found by accident through experiments with already discovered elements. It is possible to find the positive in “failing” at something and using those learning experiences to develop new ideas further than the last …show more content…
Musicians play wrong notes, athletes miss shots, writers have plot wholes and with each one of these mistakes they keep moving forward to either fix the mistakes they have made or develop their work further. That wrong note could lead to the creation of a new song from the melody created from a few simple mistakes. Athletes develop new plays and practice harder in order to hit the shots in the next game. Writers may find entirely new story lines and spend months and even years developing the story until it is exactly the way they want it. These simple mistakes that happen in life create progress in developing both the ideas and the person further through each of these learning
