Success Margaret Mead Analysis

Success to me is achieving at your highest level and doing your very best. I would agree with Margaret Meads opinion that the idea of others being highly successful can cause a certain jealousy or threat. We become so worried with others success that we don 't realize all the achievements we have accomplished ourselves. I think Mead is correct in the fact that we find a threat in success, that as a Americans we greatly prize success, and that we are taught to celebrate and honor the people that can achieve the highest. of success. I feel like we practice this more in our history classes we learn of what these great people did for America and all the things they had accomplished and we honor them by teaching about them and the importance of them. Now others may have had more achievements than some, but when a friend of yours gets a high test grade we don 't discourage them we celebrate and say good job. It gives them that confidence to continue to get high grades. If we were to talk down about someone when they have succeeded at something I don 't they they would feel as obligated to continue to do well if they had felt threatened. We can see at as a threat, we prize the idea of success, and we celebrate and honor those who have accomplished great amounts of success. I think if we didn 't have the thought of success that we may not have that strong of a motivation to get things done. We would sit around with not having much of a goal to strive for. Like in my situation I am striving to be a good student and get those higher grades so that I can succeed in high school and graduate feeling that I have succeeded and the process will continue to repeat itself out through my life. Mead also brings the celebration of succeeding and we do continue to do that whether that be graduation like I have said before, or getting a new job, or even something small like getting an A on the test. It may not have to be the most significant thing, but each time you accomplish and succeed at something that builds your confidence and gets you closer and closer to what ever goals you may have set for yourself in the past. If I didn 't have that drive to succeed I don 't think I would have all the things in my life that I do today like a job and with that I had to work very hard to get in my job I started out as just a assistant and now I 'm the one in charge of that department of work.
