The documentary, Islam: Empire of Faith, teaches viewers about the history of Islam. Subtopics in the movie include the life of great leaders of Islam like Muhammad, Saladin, Mehmet, and Sulleyman. It's also discusses topics such as revolutionary innovations, brought to us by Muslims, and important buildings from the i history of Islam. While the film was clearly extremely educational, I found it was hard to keep my attention focused on it. However, Islam: Empire of Faith wasn't all bad, I did learn som things I didn't know before watching it.
Islam not only affects Muslims, but it has affected mostly everyone in some way, specifically the Christians and Muslims. In 1009 Al-Hakim burned down the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Muhammad was a well known profit born in 57 D.C. His parents died when he was only six years old so he was raised by his uncle who sheltered him. He wasn't allowed to socialize without permission from his uncle. Muhammad died in 632. His death brought a conflict between the Shiites and the Sunnis that still continues to this day. Two other important leaders of Islam are Mehmet and Sulleyman. Mehmet became sultan at twelve years old. On April 27, 1453 he took 20 ships to land because the Christians blocked off the channel. It took only one month to defeat them. Sulleyman was a patron of the arts. He even refer bushed the Dome of the Rock. He was also known for having four wives and several mistresses. He had children with many of them, but only his first son tried to overthrow the kingdom, forcing Sulleyman to execute him even though he cared for him very
