Hello Ms. Sherburne,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to work as a substitute teacher for Granville schools. To become a part of a team is a privilege. I am contacting you because I my qualifications to accept some assignments.

I hold both substitute teaching licenses, the short-term and a long term one. However, I don’t only see openings at Aesop website for teaching positions available to me, but also for intervention specialists or educational aides. Additionally, last night I received phone calls for two open intervention specialist positions.

I will very gladly cover this shifts but I want to make the check with you if I can do it with the licenses I hold.

Thank you,

Gloria

Teacher tenure is a heavily debated topic among educators, parents, and politicians today. The dispute is whether or not teachers should receive tenure, which is a policy that makes it more difficult to fire teachers. The arguments range from abolishing the practice all together to keeping tenure as part of the states’ systems. According to Michelle Rhee (2014), the ruling Vergara v. California is a “win” for all teachers, and the educational system as a whole, because it abolished teacher tenure and job security for educators (p. 1). Another person who would agree with this stance is Campbell Brown, who argues that all students should “have access to a quality teacher” and she wants “a system that supports, protects, and properly pays good teachers and makes it possible, in a responsible, fair, and timely way, to remove teachers judged to be incompetent” (Strauss, 2014, p. 1).…

I think the biggest problem that Maryland or Montgomery County has today with schools is Truancy. Truancy is basically not showing up to school or not attending school for a good reason. I think truancy started in the early 1900 or towards the 1950s. If truancy keeps going then the people that will be blamed to most for truant students would be the parents. The parents are going to be most blame because the parents aren’t making sure that their child or their children is getting to school.…
