Reason for the increase populations over the years includes economic growth, job availability, mountains and outdoor activities, and also because of the legalization of marijuana. In 2014, the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation noted that over half of the people moving to metro Denver were millennials. This increase in millennials also increases the amount of marijuana use as the Denver Post stated that “one in five Colorado teens said they used marijuana in the past month”. Though in the county of Denver there are many resources available for substance abuse, however many patients have trouble accessing it. Many sites have either a long wait list or are not sufficient for their specific needs. I recently met a patient who has given up on “the system” because she could not find suitable resources to help her with her substance abuse needs. The places would keep referring to another resources which would eventually continue referring
