Reflection
This assignment showed me that substance abuse counselors do not make a lot of money. Going into the assignment, I knew they didn’t make millions, but I did not realize how little they actually make. This assignment has made me rethink if this career is really what I want to do with my life. I know I am super passionate about this field and that I could do a lot of good work, but I have grown up in an upper class family and having to worry about money would be an adjustment for me. For the time being, though, I am going to continue down the path to becoming a substance abuse counselor because I think I need to base my career off of my passions and worry about money at a later time.
