A Canadian citizen being held as a hostage by Taliban has outspoken the group’s “stupidity and evil”, and also revealed that the militant group killed his daughter and raped his wife.
Joshua Boyle along with his children and wife Caitlan Coleman, after reaching to Canada has shared their experiences they had to go through to the reporters followed being 5 years in captivity.
The family was captured while they were having a tour in Afghanistan back in 2012.
Coleman’s father said that the decision to visit such an unstable nation was “unconscionable”.
Parents of Boyle and his wife had been questioned why they had decided to visit such a country in the first place.
After being rescued Jim Coleman said, “What I can say is taking your pregnant wife to a very dangerous place is to me and the kind of person I am, is unconscionable,” to ABC News on Wednesday. …show more content…
It was a baby girl who was killed by the Taliban’s Haqqani network. They also raped his wife, said Boyle.
By adding more, he said it was only because of the “retaliation for my repeated refusal” for accepting a proposal made to him by the network.
“The stupidity and the evil of the Haqqani network in the kidnapping of a pilgrim… was eclipsed only by the stupidity and evil of authorizing the murder of my infant daughter,” he said.
“And the stupidity and evil of the subsequent rape of my wife, not as a lone action, but by one guard, but assisted by the captain of the guard and supervised by the commandant.”
Finally, the family was rescued by Pakistani army followed a warning given by the US while it was conducting an operation close to the Afghan border.
Reports reveal that Boyle refused to board a military flight to the US out of Pakistan.
Boyle was previously married to another woman who embraced views of radical Islamist. The woman was the sister of a former Guantanamo Bay detainee, Omar Khadr.
However, Boyle rejected such reports after reaching
