Stunned Boxing Fans

Stunned boxing fans left Chicago's Soilder Field Stadium after witnessing the greatest rematch in the sport's history. The former world champion Jack 'Kid Blackie' Dempsey was unable to defend his world title in heavyweight boxing last year, losing his 6 year streak. It is only fitting on the 22nd of September, he would face his oppenent, Gene Tunney, in another world championship. Officially dubbed 'The Long Count Fight', a record breaking 105 000 boxing enthusiasts cleared their schedule to watch the event live, the gate totalling $2 858 660, boxing's first ever million dollar gate. Although the bets eventually broke even, Tunney became the slight favourite.
