Externalized Cost In The Film Story Of Stuff Annie

In the film Story of Stuff Annie describes externalized cost as a major component for our economy being unsustainable. Externalized cost is a way were business take major part of products costs were the full price is not being pay off for the products. Businesses are not taking for granted everything that is being used to make the products and not paying for full cost. Externalizing costs are affecting our environment and economy. Companies are the ones that pay for the product costs for example natural resources. Likewise children are paying through dropping out of school to produce products, employees paying through their wage, and other people are paying through health insurance. Moreover, if product costs were no longer externalized we as consumers will have to adjust on paying more for the products and take the time to know how products are really made off before consuming them. Furthermore, the story of stuff relates to family resource management in a way that people plan, decide, and act to accomplish their goals. Products will no longer be produce at low costs which will increase the numbers in product prices. We as consumers will take more time in thinking of whether to buy the product or not. Today people do not really take the time to see how the product is being made, if the product is safe, or how much those it cost because everything is externalized. If the products were to be no longer externalized we as consumers will think about twice before buying a product at a high price.
