It was the belief that Jesus of Nazareth was the expected Messiah, and that He would come again to make his judgment. Another aspect of Christianity was that it was grounded in Judaism. They both believed in a God who is eternal and infinite, and have strong knowledge in the belief of their word. Christianity also was very similar to Mithraism, which means their god is a hero. The Christian followers were very devout to their religion, which I noticed. They built many churches, not for themselves, but for their God. They looked to their God for everything. He was their hero, which was why Mithraism was so similar to Christianity, as the Romans said. It protected them against evil, which defended their light, truth, and justice. Yes, the Christians did have a hero, but what I learned was that they were very serious in the form of judgment, and punishment. Actions have consequences. Their God punished severely for their consequences. If they followed his ways, he promised them deliverance from evil and eternal life. He promised them an eternal life in heaven, and if they did not succumb to His way they would burn in hell. There were many themes to Arabian Nights from rising to riches, to storytelling, and lastly to its culture. I enjoyed The Arabian Nights for many reasons, especially 1,001 nights. One of the themes in this particular story was the aspect of riches and how it takes its toll on a person; the need for wealth and power, and what people would do to obtain these things. Another theme was love, and the extent people would go to because of love. I thought it was interesting how Marijana was just a servant girl, yet she killed for Ali Baba.
