Have you ever not finished your homework and need more time at school that’s what study hall would do for us kids? Currently in Foley Intermediate school, we have no study hall for seventh and eighth graders because of this we need to take an elective that we don't enjoy. The rule is we must take seven classes and at least one of them has to be an art or a music class. If we add this elective we would need to have supervisors with us in this class and we would need to have a place to have study hall. Such as a room or even the cafeteria. Foley Intermediate school should have a study hall as one of are electives. I believe we should receive this class because it would benefit teachers and students.
In the first place, it would benefit students, therefore they won’t need to take an elective that they don't like. Another, benefit is if we didn't finish our homework at home, we would have a chance to finish it before class all because of study hall. However, if the kids need help with a topic in a class or have a question they could go in during study hall to

Such as they would have more homework turned in at one time since the kids would obtain a study hall to get their homework done. Therefore the teachers could put the homework in the gradebook and correct it all at once. Teachers could also start class on time since the kids would of talk in study hall instead of during class. If a student needs help with their homework or to make up a test they can come to their room during study hall instead of after school. Then the teacher can finish with what they need to do after school instead of being there late. The best part for a teacher would be if a student offered to help out in their classroom during there study hall time. Finally, the elective call teacher wouldn't have to discipline the students as much because they would be going to a class they

I am currently enjoying my senior year here at California High School. Although I consider many of my classes to be easy here, the weight of all of this year's homework is already being felt. It is my firm belief that for the sake of our students, a study hall is needed. More than 70% of students in our school are involved in extracurricular activities. I am currently involved in Boy Scouts, band, drumline, youth group, spanish club, math team, academic team, FBLA and also have a part-time job as a bagboy at Cal’s Thriftway to provide the money to save up for college and drive to school to go to all of the club meetings and practices.…

My name is Adam Kramer; a student at Washington Middle School. Liberal arts is the college academic area where students can major in a variety of fields from natural sciences to humanities, yet the first thing that comes to mind is an English major or a music major. Why do people only think of English or music? Liberal arts is more than just English or music; it ranges from psychology, a foreign language to biology. Liberal arts education is becoming descry due to many misconceptions conveyed by the media, economy, and struggling families. Many believe that a liberal arts education is not affordable, harder to get a job, and has no advantages in the workforce; however, Sanford J. Ungar, former president of a liberal arts colleges, argues that a liberal arts education is a very important investment despite…

Dwayne Dazell Cassidy 05 OCT 2015 Liberal arts has been downplayed as a valid study route throughout society. Some ongoing misperceptions, stated and analyzed in this article by Sanford J. Ungar, show how some of these perceptions are formed. He argues the many different views and opinions on how liberal arts compares to other fields of study and specifically ones that lead directly to a certain career path. Never the less it is finding its way back by being incorporated into the same career studies thought recently to be singularly better.…

During the first semester in my freshman year in high school, I never knew school club’s existed. All I knew was how to get to school and get as much experience as I could and return home. I did not have anybody telling me to join any school clubs or get good grades because I did not have an older brother or sister like other kids do. It was a terrible feeling of not having someone who can talk to you or inspire you to participate in school clubs but that all changed when second semester arrived. When second semester arrived, I made some friends, friends who tell me to join school clubs so my resume can look as good as a professional.…

has your teacher ever asked you how you wanted to be graded? I know it's a illogical question but think about it, most teacher don't care and I found a better way that few teacher ever use. The teachers need to grade us based on our knowledge and the things that we have learned threw out the year not what the school expects us to know. I know most people like the traditional ways but I think it's time to give the new way a chance and if they don't work we can go back to the ole ways.…

I think that afterschool programs would be pointless. If students listen in class then they would not need an afterschool program. Schools last a long time anyway, but if schools had an afterschool program then school would be much longer than it already is. Most students would not even take afterschool programs seriously. It can also interfere with students extra-curricular activities.…

This would help kids focus more as well because in class there is always that one squeaky chair that disrupts everyone. Last, we could possibly get some A.C. in the school with the profits. It's a long shot but it would be a good starting point saving up for it. This would be very beneficial because it is proven that kids that are hot don’t pick up all of the necessary information. This being said the a.c. would help students learn more information in the classroom.…

Some school districts offer programs that allow high school students to graduate in three years instead of the traditional four years. Most students who follow this plan must take courses during the summers or in the evenings or may not be able to take elective courses. Is it a good idea for students to finish high school in three years and enter college or the work force one year early? I think that it would be better for the students to choose if they want to leave in three or four years of school. There is two sides to the story; the pros and cons.…

In those electives comes study breaks, performing arts, and physical education. Instead of taking fun classes, I believe our school system should consider making it a requirement to take classes on important stuff like how to take the ACT. The ACT test is a must when applying to college. “According to the latest results of the organization’s standardized college entrance test, only 1 in 4 students qualify as prepared for college in all four subject areas: English, reading, math and science” (webley). So, instead of a PE class we can study, learn, and practice for the ACT.…

Throughout history, schools and colleges all over the world have taught students during the week and closed on the weekends. Back then, it was a normal schedule and nobody thought it could be changed in any way to be more productive. In today’s society, universities have the option to have classes only four days of the week, instead of the average five. This new and prominent idea is gaining popularity from students and teachers worldwide. The four-day bell schedule is an innovative procedure that offers more benefits than detriments.…
