Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in a Wheaton, IL, a suburb outside of Chicago, where I attended Wheaton Warrenville South High School. During the summer of my junior year, I took a tour of University of Minnesota and instantly fell in love with the campus and the Carlson School; which is where I ultimately decided to go to school. I believe by going to a place like Cuba, where not many people from the United States have been, I will be able to gain a completely different perspective on international business that will help me in my future career.
After I graduate, I hope to go into the Banking industry. This last summer, I completed an internship at a Bank in Minneapolis and really enjoyed my experience. I will be going back to a different group at the same bank where I will learn about Commercial Banking. Banking is an industry I would like to be in because of the multitude of career options, culture within the bank I interned at, as well as the ability to have a job where what I do directly benefits the community and the economy.
Once again, thank you very much for the scholarship. My dream is that one day I will be able to fund a scholarship, like the one you and your husband have funded for me, to help someone that’s been through the experiences my family and I have been through. Although it may be a small gesture on your part, it truly means the world to
