Now that I am in my second year of college, I am very intrigued and think it is something that college students should have an opportunity to get involved in.

Going to London gives me the possibility to learn in a native environment. I do not think there is any better way to internalize its culture and develop a vivid understanding without dwelling amongst its civilians. We will explore many places that will teach me firsthand about the United Kingdom's legal system. I am very passionate about the criminal justice system, its history, and how to improve it to making it better for those that will come after my generation. A week in London will not be enough to really embody all of England’s laws and regulations, but it will allow me to bring together all my past experiences and combine them with this new and exciting opportunity that helps build towards my future legal

The reason I would like to know about this learning expectation is because I do plan to become some type of teacher in the education system, and teaching younger generations about how our justice system works would come in handy as I would then know exactly how it works due to this class.…

Before beginning my experiences and observations in this next entry, I would like to note that I am trying to be extremely careful about details that I mention about the Royal Commission and its staff base. The Commission is still underway, and its contents are very sensitive, especially given that the hearings are closed to the public. However, it is difficult and I believe undesirable to leave out my experiences at the Royal Commission. My time there has helped shape what I regard as valuable advocacy skills and examining / interviewing techniques. On top of this, the Commission and somewhat tangentially, Wright Chambers, have given me a far better insight into criminal law than many other law students are afforded at this point in their studies.…
