My mom was born in Arizona and she, along with her mom, attended the same high school that I do. One could say that it was predetermined I would eventually find myself at Xavier College Preparatory, just like them. Imagine a bright turquoise room (a color picked by me), filled with posters and pictures of our loved ones. And now picture a line drawn down the middle in Legos, separating the two beds. This is exactly what our room looked like. Lauren’s side was messy; clothes were thrown everywhere and nothing was ever put away. I liked my things organized and put together. Because of our two differing perspectives on what a clean room looks like and the fact that we are the same age, it is safe to say that we fought a lot. I love my sister with all my heart, but growing up she knew exactly how to get on my very last nerve. In hindsight, I now know what shaped me into a person who has very strong opinions and is not afraid to let them be known. I developed a talent for making rational arguments and getting my point across to whomever I was having the argument with. However, I believe one of the most important influences had to be my dad. My dad has worked with technology his whole life, starting at age 11 when he took apart his entire computer and put it back together all by himself. I discovered from him that technology could be really fun and exciting and that is why I continue to have interest in computing and have for years now. My dad lived in Philadelphia for 8 years and finally moved back to Arizona this year for good. Living without my dad at home for so long taught me how to maintain relationships despite distance and I am forever grateful for him and the rest of my family for shaping me into the person I am
