Another club that I am very dedicated to is Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT). SWAT is a club that focuses on raising awareness about the harmful effects that tobacco can have. I became a member of this club in the 9th grade, and this year I am now the Secretary. By being the Secretary I have to take very good notes, be organized, and attend all SWAT related events. I am also part of the Executive Club for Flagler County SWAT. We focus on promoting SWAT throughout the community. We just recently hosted a photo contest, which challenged students to see how tobacco products affect their community. SWAT also has a Youth Advisory Board (YAB), which I was chosen to be on. By being apart of YAB I am representing my district. We have phone conferences about every other week, and we discuss the things that different SWAT chapters are doing in their respective communities. Key Club is a service-based club that I recently joined at the beginning of my sophomore year. In Key Club I have participated in a variety of projects, such as the Keep Warm Project, and Pasta for Pennies. Brainchild is another service-based club that focuses on tutoring students in the community who have a learning disability. I have been involved in Brainchild for two years, and at this moment I am tutoring a student in the sixth grade in mathematics. I tutor him every Monday from 4pm to 5pm. I serve as the secretary for Brainchild, which requires me to participate in all events and other duties that I need to fulfill. Mu Alpha Theta is the math club; I have been involved in this club for two years, and participated in all of the regional competitions as well as the state competitions.
