From children to young adults, they spend their entire early childhood through early adult life in school. Parents send their children to school knowing that their child’s safety is in tender care. The issue of guns being carried on campus is being discussed in all aspects of society, including politics, forums, teachers, and everyday talk. Should teachers and faculty be given the option to carry a gun at all times? Too many tragedies have occurred for faculty members and students to not be allowed what seems like such a necessity. Our Bill of Rights states, “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” so does this also apply in the classroom? As a result, from the numerous school shootings ranging from pre-kindergarten to secondary school, teachers and school faculty should be able to carry a gun on campus to protects the students as well as themselves.

People constantly think of the negative affects that guns will have instead of the positives. If this was a perfect world there would be no need to go to this extreme, but until that day comes we must arm our teachers and school faculty to guarantee the safety for children in every school (Siebold 1). The only thing left now is to spread the word of how important this subject is. By discussing this topic and the good that will come out of it to school boards, senators, or just friends you could increase the chances of change. Writing letters to the senator of state, keeping up with the news, and always voting would also contribute to alteration of the current
