Going through college is a crucial moment in life for those who want to continue their education and is hard to confront. What makes it hard to confront is the mental strength needed to endure and go through college. In the article, “New Research: Students Benefit From Learning That Intelligence Is Not Fixed” by Ingfei Chen, she explains how students in school that are struggling in school have a mindset know as fixed mindset. Fixed mindset is when someone believes that they simply aren 't good enough to do anything right and are afraid of failure. They gain this because they then understand that they are not “dumb” at something. No one is born to be smart or not, but people are born to understand and learn. Those who think they are, just don’t have a strong connection in their brain to do something right immediately . with that information, student will then study and work on their weaker skills and perform better overall in school. Whether it be in math, english, performing arts, all of these categories that any student struggles in, can get better just by practicing.
