Student’s years are challenging for everybody. Along the way, students have to learn lots of subjects, and these years are unforgettable moments for them. During these years teachers play a huge role in students’ education. In retrospect, we all have had a good or bad experience of our teachers while we were studying at school, and we have had a great teacher who changed our lives. Some of teachers were using their personal techniques to help students to improve their education, and we were able to get along with a teacher right away, but we couldn’t have a good communication with some other teachers, so that class became a boring class for us. Challenging students to think more deeply is a great technique that a teacher can use to make students work hard and make them to get ready for their exams. When a teacher give extra work to students makes them to critical thinking and more thinking will help students to engage in the class discussion based on their opinion, but this is not enough to motivate students to work harder. For example, in the article “He Inspires Excellence, author David Oliver Relin writes about Mr. Roy Sunada, who was a European History teacher and his students are from Pasadena’s John Marshall Fundamental Secondary School. He is marshal advanced placement coordinator who believes that students have to work hard to get a good grades”. He was challenging his students by taking a hard test which was impossible to get an A+ grade. He created these kind of test for his students so that students work harder and push themselves to get a good grad. By this technique students were able to answer the questions even though they were very difficult. The challenge is to have students to think more accurate. Similarly, Mr. Ray Sunada challenged his students and pushed them to work harder for college. They have to educate all students with the same level of attention. Using right tools and techniques will be very important to help students to be successful during their education. By having sense of humor method, teachers can develop and enhance student attention. Sense of humor can reduces student’s stress and tension, so they can be more proactive in the class. Moreover, some teachers try to be involved in personal students’ lives in order to solve their problems and help them to get rid of troubles. These teachers believe that knowing student’s issues can help them to guide their students by their own experience, so students can focus on studying instead of spending their time to resolve their personal problems. The technique of challenging students make them to work hard and inspire them to go beyond their ability. Most of teachers use this technique as well. They motivate their students to do their best and get a good result of their efforts, which is very important in their path to success. As we see, using proper techniques by teachers have positive impacts on students’ education. Jaime Escalante, Erin Gruwell, Roy Sunada, Carla Dicson, and Majid Kaboli are live example of influential teachers that their teaching techniques changed their students’ life.
