The understanding of one’s self is crucial to being an effective NCO, leader and Instructor. This past week at the Enlisted Professional Education Instructor Course (EPMEIC) I have had many A-Ha moments, understood some of my strengths and noticed some weaknesses that I can improve on.
Prior to the start of EPMEIC I felt nervous, scared, worried and a little excited. I thought EPMEIC was like the Noncommissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) and Airmen Leadership School (ALS) learning style. The first day of learning I received my first A-Ha moment. EPMEIC is a friendly learning environment and soon to be instructors are treated like family rather than a student. This lowered my stress, nervousness and worries enabling me to focus on developing relationships with the new family

My communication in the classroom environment stimulates others to start communicating either electronically (email), vocally, socially or all of the combined! My eagerness/willingness to learn motivates me to do my best and strive to be the best instructor I can be. My personality drives my intrusive leadership skills and gives me the cognitive and affective knowledge to want to inspire others not only in the classroom, but all Airmen. My personality also helps me understand my weaknesses and how I can improve on them.
The data analysis lesson blow my mind! It was the strongest weakness for this week. During the Foundational Course prior the classroom lecture I was lost and figured I would better understand it in class. After the class I had a better understanding of data analysis and how it impacts the EPME world, yet I know I have a lot further to go in the understanding of how Data Analysis impacts each and every person in the Air Force. Improving on this weakness will better push me into the

However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The purpose of this reflective report is to reflect on the collaborative boat bus project performance and the experiences of working within a multidisciplinary group. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

Effective communication and critical thinking are the other skills I sharped in the ALC. Also, this class improved my briefing skills and ability to stand in front of a group of people and talk to them about different subjects. The NCO week expanded my knowledge about leadership and key role we play as Non-Commissioned Offers in the Army. The briefing, we received from Training and Doctrine Command Sergeant Major Davenport certainly opened my vision on how to approach soldiers and resolve their problems as he stated “I am talking to you all not at you…

This is a great experience for me as an Economics major since I was able to have hand-on working experience with financial documents. In addition to that, I recently ended my three months internship as a Marketing Maestro/ PR Agent for a Public Relation Agency.…

On December 3rd, I presented the advocacy cards. It was a wonderful feeling to feel accomplished to present the cards that have been worked for the past three months with Erica. Thomas Watson, former chairman of IBM said, “Nothing so conclusively proves a man’s ability to lead others, as what he does from day to day to lead himself.” In my current position, the best things I can do to strengthen and improve the teaching profession are to teach to the best of my abilities, be a professional, maintain a positive attitude, keep my focus student-centered, and influence other teachers to do the same. One of my fellow teachers, Mrs. Pam Parris, and her exceptional children’s class, sponsor an initiative to encourage students and staff at our school to “be the change” in how students with special needs are treated. The effects of the Project Unify program have been astounding. Mrs. Parris’ students are able to participate in my band and chorus classes side by side with regular education students.…

I always considered my-self a “numbers” type of guy than one who excels in writing. Throughout my entire academia english classes have always been and shall be the bane of my school work. I never fully had the confidence in my english work or in any of my written assignments to begin with, however it was not for the lack of trying but more of the thought of failure. Final Reflection The most proud of accomplishing to me is that I confidently gave a complete and organized speech at present day. I tried my best to use presentation skills that I have learned from the class and the book. I still remember at the very first speech, even though it was about telling a story and was only 2 minutes, I stammered and felt really nervous. Now, at the end of the semester, I overcame the anxiety, did a lot of research, memorized difficult words, and revised my outline many time; therefore, finally I did a 10 minutes good presentation in front of the class. Since English is not my first language, I know I should make more effort so that I always be strict with myself and grasp every opportunity to practice.…

Reflection is “the process of creating and clarifying the meanings of experiences in terms of self-relation to both self and world” (Boyd and Fales, 1983, p101). It is important to be able to reflect on experiences because the act of reflection helps an individual to understand what they did or did not do well and helps them to correct it for the future times. In this paper, I will be reflecting on the cycle of a group project which included the formation stage, conflicts stage, and the adjourning stage of the group assignment. Joining a new organization is daunting itself, and joining a new class and having to go straight into a group project is even more nerve racking. In order to be most effective, group projects need to have communication…

Reflection When signing up to take the Final Project Course this fall I was extremely nervous and not excited to start. Walking into the first day of class and learning more about what the final project would entail, I did feel slightly better but still scared that it was going to be too overwhelming and hard to complete by myself. Luckily, the individual meetings and emails with my professor made everything much more clear and inviting. These final project meetings were very helpful in terms of receiving constructive criticism and then going back home to make changes to the paper.…
