It is a great pleasure to recommend Samantha Sansom for the NDTA Scott/St. Louis Chapter Scholarship.

From the first day of class, Samantha has impressed me with her strong work ethic and character both in and out of the classroom. Samantha is an exemplary leader and student at Sullivan High School. She has participated in Varsity Cheerleading, serving as captain, Girls’ Soccer, Student Council, and the National Honor Society. She was recognized as a UCA All-American Cheerleader. Since this achievement is initiated from peer recognition, this demonstrates her positive leadership abilities and relationships with others. She does all of this and still maintains an attractive grade point average. She is organized, can speak well in front of a class and always follows through on commitments.

She is actively preparing for her post-secondary journey and I feel that she would be a very appreciative and deserving scholarship recipient. I appreciate your careful consideration of this scholarship

It is a great pleasure to recommend Rachel Sitasz for admission to the Edward Hospital Student Volunteer Program. She is one of the most empathetic, kind, and exceptional humans I have encountered in my 14 years of teaching. I teach Rachel in my 8th grade advanced ELA class. Her academics, character, innate curiosity, intrinsic motivation, ethical standards, and unwavering desire to give back, have put Rachel in a class of her own. In fact, for the first time in over 25+ years, the eighth-grade team created a brand new end-of-the-year award for our graduation awards assembly.…

A formal and an informative tone was used. She tried to get her point across that inflation of grades should not be acceptable and it is happening too often. This was emphasized when she proclaimed, "I had the numbers to back me up, and I wouldn't budge on her grade," after another student asked her if she could bump up her B-minus.
