Title: Social Media for success?
Purpose: To inform students about the power of social media (positive & negative) and how it can be used in an academic setting.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to evaluate how social media can have positive or negative impact in their lives.
Students will be able to identify two benefits of social media in academic setting.
Students will be able to begin networking with faculty, staff, alumni, and community.

Student affairs professional will share some applications and websites that students can use to connect with faculty, staff, alumni and community.
Student affairs professional will introduce faculty who have used or is using social media in their current courses to describe the effectiveness and how it can be used (Ex. Group discussions, on-line projects, etc).
Evaluation:
Measuring SLOs- Students will be able to evaluate how social media can have positive or negative impact in their lives/ identify two benefits of social media in academic setting.
Assessment method: Students will be given a short quiz including five short responses about the power of social media at the end of the workshop to submit before they leave.
Measuring SLO- Students will be able to begin networking with faculty, staff, alumni, and community.
Assessment method: Students will have an opportunity to connect with faculty, staff, alumni who were present at the work shop via LinkedIn. Student affairs professionals can gather the data from faculty, staff, alumni after two weeks to see how many students actually have reached out to
