We as professionals have a duty in which we must complete continuing professional development in order to retain registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Previously qualified nurses followed the PREP CPD Standard, however effective as of April 2016 a new legislation known as Revalidation will replace this. The Revalidation guidelines state that a minimum of five written accounts must be created in the three year period, before registration renewal (Revalidation, 2015). Once qualified it is essential to be a reflective practitioner to learn and develop throughout our careers from challenges we face.
