A young patient arrived from operating theatre had tonsillectomy. As a student nurse in the recovery room, I would assess the patient by firstly collecting information via handover from anaesthetist and theatre nurse and proceed by checking the patients Airway, Breathing, Circulation and vital signs to establish my observations.
I have set goals which are to ensure that patient is comfortable under my care and leaves recovery room with no issues.
