Student Membership Research Paper

Every state has a different membership due depending if you are a non-student, a first year student or a second year student. All of the new/renewing membership dues are always done on December 31st of every year and so it is important to keep up with the dues to keep your membership. As stated on the AAMA website, in order to be considered a student for the student dues, students must apply to become a membership before they graduate. On the AAMA Membership Dues Table by state, non-student fees are $102.00, a first year student costs $40.00, and second year student fee is $75.00. Even though these are the dues that are listed on the website, the dues could be changed at national or state. As a future medical assistant student, it is important to find schools with programs that are accredited by a well known accredited organization. A very important benefit that is included when medical assistants joins is credibility. Being a part of this organization means that they will provide employers proof of certification if employers were to ever ask. Another benefit to take advantage of is getting protected for medical assistant’s scope of practice. This organization will make sure that the professions in this scope of practice is updated with any federal and state law as well as answer any questions that come to mind.
