Student Lunch Case Study

A major problem at Bridgeport High School is the availability of food choices during the lunches. From this problem, minor complications are produced, which all lead back to the lack of variety of food offered. The fact that there are only two choices to choose from, one being constant pizza and the other differentiated, leads to students either settling on a constant or altering food choice. Students may bombard a line over another, depending on their preference, which is a reason as to why it generally takes an average of 10 minutes for a student to attain their lunch tray. Within the problems caused by the lack of food variety is the length of the lunch lines and the time it takes for a student to obtain a plate. Not only do students have to wait in long-lasting lines, not all are assured that they will get lunch, seeing as food runs out several times a week. No longer will the school have to worry about the extensive lines that cause troubles for students, the availability of space for students to sit at, or coming up with more choices for lunch. Wise, mandatory regulations that could be applied in the “Off-Campus Lunch” policy would include, but are not limited to: A & B Honor Roll senior students with no more than three tardies and three absences per 6-weeks. These regulations not only encourage senior students on striving for great academic grades, but also to be more responsible and not slacking on getting to their next class. Also, not only seniors, but also juniors, sophomores, and freshmen will be looking forward to their senior year for the fact that they will have the opportunity to leave school for a good portion of the day (45 minutes), perhaps with their friends.
