My hope in setting this goal was to promote higher academic understanding by using effective group placement, and individual assignments selection.
I implemented my goal by first splitting my students into groups that would prompt their agreeableness. Furthermore, each group had

I never imagined that simulation could be effectively used to bring a new environment to teach students. Specifically to “simulate” rural conditions (Hendrickx, Foerster, Hansen & Tschetter, 2014). However, I’m not very “fond” of simulation and particularly don’t like learning that way, unless it is strictly necessary. On the other hand, this is a very interesting article. It reports how a nursing school developed a program to overcome their population’s needs.…

An issue that I commonly notice with my peers is stress. In my opinion, this stress is caused by the over testing of these students. I, like my fellow classmates, have to test at least six times a year. On top of all of this, we have projects, tests, and quizzes due in our classrooms. The overloading of standardized tests causes high amounts of stress throughout the student body and also the faculty.…

    Gifted Simulation Analysis

One of the main criteria I would use to evaluate the suitability of a specific simulation is whether or not the simulation involves higher order thinking. One of the traits that “differentiates gifted students from their age peers is their exceptional capacity to perceive information and use it productively” (Parks, 2009, p. 261). As a teacher, we are “challenged to select or design instruction to teach reasoning processes that are abstract, sometimes requiring a technical understanding of logic” (Parks, 2009, p. 262). By evaluating the simulation, does it take information that gifted students understand already to a different level that might challenge them in many different aspects? If it doesn’t, and is just a computer activity…

A classroom’s community and environment is what allows students to either learn successfully or unsuccessfully. If the environment is not welcoming, safe, and encouraging a student’s basic needs will not be met and their academic success will suffer consequently. I aspire to create a classroom environment that exudes creativity, safety, equity, and community. In order to create a collaborative learning environment, as I desire to, I must also adhere to learning differences of students and the uniqueness of my students’ development patterns. The following paper will discuss my understanding of how different students progress, how I will address the range of learning preferences and cultures, as well as how I will use that knowledge to create a collaborative learning environment.…
