Dr. Miller,

Thank you for meeting with myself and Harold this morning. I wanted to make sure that I covered all of the information.

1. We talked about the supplies or items that were left in the classroom before Dr. Singh’s classes.
2. You also had mentioned how you had been a mentor to Dr. Singh last year.
3. We reference prior conversations:
a. You referring to Dr. Singh as being different
b. When you had used the term different, you thought that you were pointing out things that Dr. Singh brought to the class that was positive and not negative.
c. There was a point in time you had also made a statement about her having to leave the country if Trump was elected president.
d. An additional conversation where profanity had been used.
4. We also discuss how she felt that

You had reference a student that Dr. Singh had brought to your attention who had some concerns in her class last year, the student had asked to be moved to a close section and you all moved the students, but wanted to just monitor the student just to make sure the student was not going to be tardy in the new class. This was a friendly discussion more so as an fyi discussion.

Two things that I had forgotten to bring to your attention was the reference of a brown chair in the room and how it had been placed in different locations in the room, and also how a student, Brooke Smith had sent Dr. Singh a note that she would not be in class, but then she showed up in class.

How to proceed moving forward:

1. Remind faculty during department meeting that they are in a shared space and that others will be using the classroom even if they have to come back later for a class.
2. Instead of using the term different use the word unique which will probably be a positive connotation.
3. You will continue to have conversations with Dr. Singh to ensure that she feels a part of the department and not that she is not being targeted or should feel that there is a hate crime against

Kennedy (JFK) High School. From the parking lot into the school, I see Kennedy ’s quote, painted on the edge of the entrance, stating, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” Many other quotes by graduating classes were painted on the edge of the hallway overheads with the year underneath and all meant to inspire people. As a pastor, my father has fairly complex taxes. Since he lives in a parsonage, he doesn’t rent nor own a house, he is considered by the IRS ‘self-employed’, and has an odd system of taxes. Considering his tax layout, I thought he would be an interesting interviewee for this assignment. Throughout the interview, it was clear he would prefer if the government would limit its spending, and pay it more directly to better causes. The first question was, “What percent of your total income do you pay in both federal and state taxes?”…

I approached the interview with a series of generic questions in an attempt to get to know her. I asked about Katherine’s hobbies, family, friends, current job, even where she would like to travel.…

Figuring out well-thought questions to ask my teacher back home in California was arduous because there are a variety of questions to choose from. Scott Dufrense, a well-respected teacher back in high school, had just received his position as a teacher a couple years ago. It was his 3rd year going in as a Math teacher by the time I graduated. Lutheran High School wasn’t a well populated school. The school had nearly 500 students so it wasn’t difficult for him to fit in and connect with the students.…
