He finished elementary school, middle school, high school, and a four-year university in Taiwan. He had a Bachelor degree in nursing in Taiwan. He is also a certified nurse in Taiwan. According to Tai-feng's interview, it shows that the school experience and educational system are different between USA and Taiwan. For example, in Taiwan there are six years in elementary school, three years in middle school and three years in high school. The elementary is from first grade to sixth grade. Each transition of school stages is needed to be tested. In the last year of high school, there is a national test for all high-school graduates. All senior-high-school students are requested to take the General Scholastic Ability Test to apply colleges. Furthermore, students are required to wear uniform to school since first grade. In Tai-feng's opinions, he thinks that the academic achievement is regarded as the most elements in Taiwan schools. Students in Taiwan usually spend a lot of time on studying or doing worksheets since middle school in order to achieve higher expectations from parents and teachers. Furthermore, the way of teachers delivery lessons are also different. For example, in Taiwan, most of the time, teachers are standing in front of a board and delivery the lesson by writing down notes on board for students to copy it. At the same time, students are sitting and writing down what they see on the board. There are barely activates, group discussion, and small group leaning in Taiwan. In addition, discipline and community is extremely important in Taiwan’s school education. For example, students are educated to respect teaches since their first day in school. For example, students are required to clean the classroom since the first grade. Teachers in Taiwan would assign the classroom cleaning chores to students. For example, some students may need to sweep the floor, some students may need to clean the window, and some students may need to mop the floor. What’s more, Students in higher graders are asked to do the school cleaning chores. For instance, students since third grade are responsible to clean school public area such as, playground, library, music classes, and school faculty rooms. There are several things that Tai-feng mentioned in his interviews. He stated that educational environment and educational system is extremely different between the United States and Taiwan. He believed that the relationship between teachers and students are closer in the USA. For example, he feels comfortable talking or discussing any problems with professors in the USA than in Taiwan. In addition, he enjoys the racial diversity classroom and diversity society. For instance, he likes to make friends from different cultural background. There are Hispanic, African-American and White in his small group learning. Tai-feng likes to work with his racial diversity group because his diverse group always brings him different aspects. As a result, Tai-feng stated that having friends from different race is his most valuable experience that he has in the USA because there is only one race in Taiwan-Taiwanese. Family Tai-feng is an international student. He does not have any relatives in the United States. All his family is in Taiwan. This is his first time study abroad; he had been through some difficult time for the first
