Because we have worked together, on a number of issues related to student needs and concerns, I feel comfortable commenting on his performance and potential for success in his post-secondary studies.

Mr. Charles is a rare student.

He is a self-starter and an independent thinker who has a number of experiences that demonstrate his ability to manage stress and initiate, plan, and carry out activities with minimum guidance. As the Student Representative on the Board of Trustees, Mr. Charles has been called on numerous times to address student-related issues that come before our Board. He does not “shy away” from these public speaking opportunities. He is articulate, well prepared, and extremely comfortable addressing large groups of his peers and adults who are in attendance. He takes the responsibility of leadership seriously and relies on data-driven research and individual “experts” to formulate visions and his positions. In addition, he has taken it upon himself to meet with various Sweetwater District administrators to “champion” the concerns of students (facilities, course requirements, etc.) throughout the District, and subsequently makes regular reports to student government presidents of all thirteen high schools. With such experiences, Mr. Charles has a keen insight into

Good Afternoon Mr. Lanigan, The APS manual states that the AP interview is to begin with an “introduction and statement for the purpose for the interview”. APS policy (1703.50) The policy also states that the APCW is to address the allegations in the report. There is no specific guidance as to when the allegations can be brought up or how you approach the allegations. I am curious to hear your critique of how our staff conducts their interviews of the AP. I am also looking forward to your training that will be much later this year.…

I decided that I wanted to interview a counselor that specializes in working with children because is a career that I am interested in working in the future. In order to interview a school counselor I went to the elementary school that is near the area I live in. After explaining to the lady at the front desk that this was for an assignment, she talked to the counselor and we scheduled an appointment for the interview. The reason why I wanted to interview this person is because in the future I would like to be a counselor myself, however I am still not sure which population I would serve once I get my Masters degree in counseling.…

At 38 degrees latitude north and 92 longitude west, lies the rural farming town of California, Missouri. This town is rich in cornfields, small businesses, and many churches of all denominations. From the quiet fields, to the busy town square this city is home to 4,341 people. What I believe makes California stand out from the other towns is that it has the “oldest continuously operating fair west of the Mississippi” (Kunze). But the thing that impacts me most about this town is the California High School, it’s staff, and the students.…

Over the course of my seven years teaching high school social studies, I have had the opportunity to learn about the evolving roles and responsibilities of a school administrator from three amazing principals. Henry Kluttz, Kelly Withers, and Angelo DelliSanti have been excellent models for anyone aspiring to be an administrator. Having recently started my own journey towards this leadership role, my knowledge of what makes a great principal has grown exponentially. Having the opportunity to interview a pair of veteran elementary school principals through this assignment has been an eye-opening experience. Having spent the entirety of my teaching career at the high school level has left me with a limited understanding of how an elementary school functions.…
