Hi Ms. Barringer,

I am working towards finishing my engagement areas for the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society and I have a quick question for you. One of my engagement areas is Service which I need 200 hours for. I have acquired 212 hours while being a student at FSU PC, but the ServScript is not letting me enter any hours in before December 12, 2015. What do I need to do to document those hours?

Throughout the year AVID has helped me learn organizational skills enormously. I say this because at the beginning of the year I didn’t know how I was going to complete all the work I received and I didn’t really understand the time management part. So as we started getting more and more homework, I found it was important to use your planner and to do your homework the night it was assigned. Several times I fell into a whole on Thursday nights, when we had binder the next day.…

When I first discovered the academic prowess and the opportunities that were offered at Montclair State University, I found myself having a feeling that this was the school for me. This gut feeling became amplified once I had done research on the Feliciano School of Business and the Montclair State Law School. For years I had envisioned myself being at an institution that values and initiates an educational and empowering environment as this would fit in well with my core academic strengths and ideals and for these reasons I am gladly seeking admission to Montclair State University. Throughout my academic career I have gained valuable insight into what my academic strengths and interests have developed into.…

My education consisted of the perfect blend of the sciences and humanities all provided in an intimate and encouraging environment that only Defiance College can provide. Indeed, my coursework and involvement in the McMaster School for Advancing Humanity not only bestowed me with the skills to think critically about many of society’s most challenging problems, but it also instilled a cognizance that these problems cannot be addressed without a compassionate understanding of individuals’ subjective experiences. This theme—whether it be presented in the context of questions as to individual rights verses public welfare; compassion verses rule of law; or what is subjectively proper as opposed to objectively proper—is a theme that I was consistently…

In my Junior year of high school, I decided to apply to out of state colleges, since I did not want to be anywhere near home. In the middle of the semester, I realized, I did not enjoy the experience of being eighteen hours and forty-five minutes drive away from home or spend 4-5 hours on a plane. First and Foremost, I want to transfer from my current university because the Biomedical Engineering program has not yet been accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).Upon finding out about the accreditation status of my degree program, I decided I wanted to transfer to a school that has been accredited…

Service hours is all about giving your own personal time to help or work with someone or by yourself for maybe a school project or a project at home. Also you could give up some of your time to help your neighbors out by babysitting for a couple of hours or helping your little siblings coach with a practice or two or help during a game. You could also give up some of your time to help mom or dad with the house or around the house. I give up some of my weekends babysitting the kids next door and help coach my little sister's volleyball team. So these are some ways of giving up some of your personal time to help out…

My observation took place at Gateway Community College Central City Campus as a part of my job as a student services specialist at the front desk counter. I was observing students between 9 A.M. and 12P.M. on a Monday morning, September 12, 2016. I was able to observe about 15 current and prospective students. The college is located in Central City area neighborhood on Buckeye and 12 street, and most of the students at this campus are considered to be “at-risk” students. The student population of Gateway is very diverse, but they have a lot of similarities as well.…

The classroom setting is for, four-year-old preschool aged children. The idea behind the preschool comes from Piaget’s theory that children learn by a process of adaptation, assimilation, and then accommodation. During the first step, they interpret new stimulation in ways that fit with what they already know. As the new information assimilates, the existing knowledge modifies and creates a better match. Lastly, the child’s understanding gradually changes from the interaction with the environment.…

Topic I decided to research student motivation for my topic for this assignment. I am a program director and teacher of polysomnography at a private career college in Michigan. It seems over the last year that my students’ motivation to learn has declined. The excitement and enthusiasm did not exist with my 2015 cohort as compared to my 2014 cohort. Looking at this problem objectively, I compared the grades, assignment completions, discussion board, blog, and journal participation rates of both cohorts.…
