Student Engagement Case Study

With so many different people working in the Office of Student Engagement and so many different activities going on during the week, it is very easy for the office to become disorganized. That is why I, along with Patrick’s graduate assistant Jordan, took part in a massive undertaking by organizing everything in the office, from the storage closet filled with a variety of supplies, to the drawers that were filled with papers and items that should have been removed a long time ago. After cleaning out the closet and drawers, and removing anything that was no longer usable (e.g. expired food, old papers, etc.), I decided to try and put labels on the more important items being stored, in hopes that those items will remain in the same location so they will be easy to locate in the future. I also tried to keep items that were used for the same programs together. For instance, every item that was used around Halloween, Christmas, or Easter was given its own respective space. I was also able to locate items that we had thought were missing for a long time, such as several yoga mats, which can now be provided to …show more content…
While Patrick did have some movie tickets available in reserve, he did not have enough to accommodate the projected amount of people expected to show up. Patrick and I went to the mail room in hopes that the tickets would have arrived, and while the tickets were not there, we found there were phone cases that came, that Patrick was considering giving out as prizes. Fortunately, the movie tickets came later in the day after I had finished working. Additionally, in preparation for movie night, I had to call the movie theater to remind them that we were coming and that we would need a table and two chairs to distribute tickets and swipe students in for
