Parkway South High School, located in Manchester, Missouri is a middle sized high school with nearly 1700 students. It is located in a middle to high class neighborhood,with a mostly middle class student attendance. With nice facilities on campus: a football stadium, soccer field, a spacious cafeteria, a theatre, baseball fields, a pool, gyms, and a separate history wing, Parkway South is able to accommodate various events. Our meetings would be structured like this: We would start our meetings off by making announcements about events concerning our club including a list of topics that the club would be working on that day, we would then hold an all club forum in which members of the club other than the leaders can present ideas to help in furthering our cause, and lastly we would proceed to do whatever functions we mentioned in the announcements. The structure of the meeting will vary depending on the plans proposed as well as the plans being executed.
What activities do you propose that your group participate in to accomplish the mission of your UNICEF club?
After reading through the guide provided online, we have decided to participate in multiple activities outlined by Unicef. During the first year, we will mostly start with fundraising since that is the easiest to execute within our high school as well as help the children through direct fund. In the future, education and advocacy will be focussed on alongside fundraising after we have discussed this further with the school.
