Hi Mrs. Araiza,

Thank you so much for agreeing to be my reference and sorry for the late reply, this past week was extremely hectic for me. Most of my activities are from this school year since I was really overwhelmed last year and was not very active in any clubs/ organizations that I signed up for during the beginning of the year. Well for starter, I am currently working at UCLA School of Dentistry's Finance Office as a Work Study/ Student Assistant. This is a great experience for me as an Economics major since I was able to have hand-on working experience with financial documents. In addition to that, I recently ended my three months internship as a Marketing Maestro/ PR Agent for a Public Relation Agency. The experience was not very enjoyable

However, sceptics have questioned how the concept is sometimes interpreted, arguing that there is unclear logical and pragmatic examination of its value in professional development. Therefore, developing a reflective report is an undertaking that needs to be approached with caution, more so if individual reflection and critical thinking are to be rooted. The purpose of this reflective report is to reflect on the collaborative boat bus project performance and the experiences of working within a multidisciplinary group. The report will give consideration to the feedback we obtained from the client and from Adam Smith (tutor) and how we then applied this feedback to feed in the report writing. An iterative model, meaning learning through participating, somewhat adapted to the one in Bulman and Schultz (2013)’s ‘Reflective Practice in Nursing p232’, Gibbs (1988)’s reflective cycle explains the significance of the evaluation process, especially building on negative as well as positive feedback.…

Reflective Journal - David Taransaud presentation David's Taransaud is a psychotherapeutic counsellor and author who has over 15 years experience working with challenging young people in some of London’s most deprived areas. His presentation was a thought provoking experience that has opened up more questions about myself and my practice than I anticipated. David explained his belief that the most challenging young people, without exception have suffered abuse and shame. He further explained his notion that these children suppress their feelings deep inside to such an extent that they can no longer feel.…

One of the most important thing I have learned in this course that has positively affected my confidence in my writing skills is the concept of writing a “shitty first draft”. In my midterm self-assessment, I discussed how I thought I was among one of the unlucky ones that was not blessed with natural writing skills. However, through class discussions, I’ve learned that one of the most important competent of professional writing is the need for constant revision. Contrary to popular believe, writing does not come easy to anyone. In order to successfully produce professional writing, it is important that one plan, draft, revise, and edit his or her work.…

Helen, the unit I worked on prior to where I am now, was a Med-Surg unit and our nurse manager initiated the change to do bedside report as well. It was a change that as nurses we were not use to. It involved having to go into the patient’s room and give report with the patient present. It is supposed to involve the patient in their plan of care, which in turn is supposed to improve patient satisfaction, as well as overall care. Our nurse manager would out of nowhere appear and follow her employees around to make sure that bedside report was being done.…

When I first heard about AJROTC, I wanted to take no part in it since I visioned myself being yelled at by the instructors and wearing those unappealing, green uniforms. I finally decided to join the program not because I wanted to, but because my friends joined the program as well in order to avoid being in PE. I didn’t know what I had gotten myself into. Seeing cadets being eager to take on leadership roles was something I didn't want to be involved in.…

Reflective Journal Assignment – Assignment #2 This whole interviewing experience was pretty great and interesting from both sides of the interviewing process; But while I was being interviewed, I felt a slight bit of discomfort during the process and felt that while my “Social Worker” (Bailey) was interviewing me was just a tad bit tense; And what I mean by her being tense is her posture was tense, like she didn’t really seem comfortable at all interviewing me, and her voice was tense as well, she spoke fast and rushed through everything which caused some discomfort. On the other hand, she did make me feel like I was being heard, she never once broke her eye contact with me and somewhat expanded on the questions she originally asked; Also she made it quite easy for me…

When the authors’ of They Say, I Say wrote about their student who did not re-read what he had previously written, I felt that the student must have been more focused on completing the essay than on the clarity of his paper. I always proofread my paper for sentences or ideas that do not make sense and will often delete or re-write sections to improve the flow or clarity of my essay. I don’t think that I have ever had an essay where I didn’t re-write portions of it. I found the strategies for connecting ideas incredibly helpful, in chapter 8. I especially enjoyed the visualization of an arm stretching from one tree to another to illustrate connecting sentences together.…

I have come to the point where I cherish these journals because I am able to express my emotions coherently with an unbiased audience, in a way they are comforting. Emotion is something that defines who we are as person, our daily attitude, and how we will perceive unique events in our lives. I really enjoyed this chapter because of the main focus of emotion. To be honest I rarely show my emotions, I try to surpass them, but I am fully aware when I am experiencing diverse emotions and the feeling they give me as I experience my daily distinctive life. I understood the definition given by the author concerning emotion as something that defines you for a major time in your life, it may be a day or a few weeks, but it is something that is prolonged.…
