Student 4-16 Reflection

Decent Essays
I helped students (4-16) grow in their learning by grading their assignments and tutoring them in areas of difficulty. I particularly enjoyed this experience not only because I was able to work with children and see their progress their studies, but I was also able to learn how to teach kids. I was ultimately able to take this new skill set and go off on my own to become a successful ACT tutor who raised money for a worthy cause.

Over the course of this semester I learned a lot about myself as a writer. This English 1010 class has really allowed me to expand my essay structure and ways of thinking. When I first started this course, I was scared and didn’t really know what to expect. I branched out to different styles and types of essays as well as incorporating outside sources into my work. When I received my first essay back with the feedback and the grade, I realized that I was not a really good writer.…

Title Enrolling the EOF program has lighten up a path in life that would have gone completely undiscovered had I walked alone. Along the path was my introduction to college writing, a class that has improved my writing skills profoundly. At first the tasks given to us on the syllabus seemed daunting, almost insurmountable within the five-week period of the program; it seemed even more inconceivable with the class being only twice a week. However, with the guidance and instruction given to me by the professor and peers I was able to strengthen my work as a student.…

Working for the quality of my work and not for the grade has become my new mindset of the English subject, it has become a major improvement/emphasis in my daily life while attending this first quarter of 8th Grade English Honors based on motivational sayings by Mr. Royal. The development of this concept of mine has worked its way up and constructed itself based on the concept Mr. Royal has delivered to us about not only working hard, but being able to comprehend the overall image of the text, or literature, etc. Conveying the overall image of comprehension was a real hassle for me at first, but as the days flew by in this first quarter of English, I have learn to exhale all the stress, failures, and mishaps, and turn them into words that…

English 219 was my first college level English course, and through attending and completing all of the assignments I have learned many skills that I believe will greatly help me in my future courses in college. Next semester I am enrolled in English 220, and after having taken this course I feel substantially better about continuing on with English courses at a college level. It has helped me to become more confident in my writing skills and provided me with an excellent basis for me to continue on with next semester, and throughout the rest of my schooling experience. Throughout this class I have learned many things, but perhaps the most important is the steps to writing an essay, and the planning options.…

Hey Group, I really enjoyed view the presentation and I feel you all did a great job. I like how you all went into details about the cons of pay to play, especially when you all talk about how students in low-income households are not able to pay a fee for a sport and they end up playing in unsafe areas and experience health issues such as obesity. There are a few questions I would like to ask to get more of an insight of the situation. 1. When I use to play sports for my high school, the coaches would choose the students who will play on a team and the positions they will have.…

My 3-practicum placements have provided me with different, but great learning experiences. I was able to practice what I have been learning in my other college courses in my practicums. This led me to join a program at my high school called “Kids for Kids.” It is a tutoring program for young children at Milwaukee College Preparatory school. This was definitely a new experience for me, working with the kids to find different ways to help them with their math homework.
