We usually had late night calls from my dad everyone had two minutes to talk to him my mom, my grandmother, my sister and then me. I was lucky enough to get two minutes it was usually the same thing he told me , “ Echale ganas mijo, eres el hombre de la casa no te veas triste por que deves hacer fuerte pa tu jefa, hermanita y tu abuelita.” Then he would be “ Mijo recuerda que te am…” and he didn’t finish it would hang up but I always wished he would finish because I rarely hear him tell me he loved me. Two to three months later we got a lawyer, paid my dad’s bail and he was out and home with us again. I was so happy it was the first time I felt a strong tight hug from my father and tears of happiness of being united but little we knew this wasn’t going to last. I started the seventh grade, I got older many things change I stop being that nerdy kid I was, I was tired of being bullied for liking Pokémon, dressing nerdy, so I started to hang out with the local gang members so I would get respect and stop getting bullied.
