“Two households, both alike in dignity... From forth the fatal loins of these two foes a pair of star-crossed lovers take their life” (I.Prologue.1-6). The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, set in a town known as Verona, Italy, is mainly about two feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets. Juliet Capulet and Romeo Montague meet at the Capulet party where Romeo convinces Juliet to kiss him and they eventually fall in love. Romeo only goes to the party because he is rejected by Rosaline and he is heartbroken. When he heard that she is going to attend the party, he decides to go and then Juliet catches his eye. Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, said, “Hang thee young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what - get thee to church a Thursday or never look me in the face. Speak not, reply not, do not answer me” (III.v.160-163). Juliet’s father is telling her that he is going to disown her if she doesn’t show up at the marriage ceremony. He is scolding Juliet and then says that he does not want a reply. She is already grieving over the death of Tybalt and the banishment of Romeo, now her father is saying that if she doesn’t show up at the wedding on Thursday, she better not be around him ever again. She has to choose between waiting to be with Romeo somehow or marrying someone else.
The third and final obstacle she faces is when she has to figure out what to do when Romeo is banished from Verona and moves to Mantua. This is especially a hard obstacle to overcome because after Romeo kills Tybalt and gets banished, he becomes hated by Juliet’s parents even more. No one knows the true story that Tybalt actually started the fight. Juliet begs the nurse, “Comfort me, counsel me” (III.v.205-209). Juliet is basically asking the nurse for advice on what to do because Romeo is miles away in Mantua and her heart still belongs to him. He is her husband, after

At the beginning Tybalt had the urge of killing Romeo by having said “Now, by the stock and honour of my kin, to strike him dead I hold it not a sin.” Because Tybalt is extremely Temperamental he wanted to murder Romeo just for being a Montague even though Romeo has done absolutely nothing to the Capulets. If Tybalt wasn’t so aggressive to Romeo, Romeo would have never have killed Tybalt, which leads him to not get banished and prevent Juliet from poisoning herself; which ends of the death of the two. Another crime that Tybalt has committed is the murder of Mercutio who is a close cousin of Romeo’s. The cause of Mercutio’s death is by a blood gashing wound caused by Tybalt’s aggression to Romeo, where Mercutio stepped in to defend his fellow cousin.…

Shakespeare shapes ideas about conflict through the ever present nature of the feud. All characters in Shakespeare's play “Romeo and Juliet” find themselves effected by the conflict, especially Romeo and Juliet. Act 1 Scene 5 is very much a scene about love as it is the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time and share their first kiss. However, Shakespeare reminds the audience of the feud and how it will impact Romeo and Juliet's love by adding moments of conflict into the scene. This conflict is evident in the line spoken by Tybalt to Capulet “This, by his voice, should be a Montague/ Fetch me my rapier, boy ....…

In Conclusion, I think that Romeo is a young, inexperienced and impatient but loyal and brave boy. I think that his naivety plays a huge rule in this because love was taken as an extravagant feeling to have when it was not truly happy as the lovers can experience heartbreak and many other obstacles. It seems as if Romeo only more cautious and deliberate, his devastating ending could have been prevented (even though we have not finished the book yet). Amongst friends especially Mercutio, Romeo shows signs of his social and quick witted persona, even with his fond of verbal jousting that is mainly about sex. Lastly, Romeo is like every other male in the world who only unveils their true self to the people who they trust or who understand them.…

The Montague versus Capulet feud is an ongoing theme in the play that eventually leads to Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. There is tension between the Capulet and Montague families throughout the play that evolves much more violently.
