Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet, said, “Hang thee young baggage, disobedient wretch! I tell thee what - get thee to church a Thursday or never look me in the face. Speak not, reply not, do not answer me” (III.v.160-163). Juliet’s father is telling her that he is going to disown her if she doesn’t show up at the marriage ceremony. He is scolding Juliet and then says that he does not want a reply. She is already grieving over the death of Tybalt and the banishment of Romeo, now her father is saying that if she doesn’t show up at the wedding on Thursday, she better not be around him ever again. She has to choose between waiting to be with Romeo somehow or marrying someone else.
The third and final obstacle she faces is when she has to figure out what to do when Romeo is banished from Verona and moves to Mantua. This is especially a hard obstacle to overcome because after Romeo kills Tybalt and gets banished, he becomes hated by Juliet’s parents even more.
