This assignment seemed just like any other. There was a deadline and guidelines and goals that were going to dictate the structure of it. I, however, didn’t know that I was wrong, and it was going to be far from any other. I have a habit, a detrimental one, that was slowly being fed and reassured as “ok” the more and more I went through my schooling. On Christopher Morley’s “On Laziness”, he achieves his purpose through using rhetorical effects when presenting his subject on laziness. When presenting his subject to his audience Morley uses sophisticated tone to state that being lazy is not necessarily all that bad as perceived. When people use the word “lazy” a negative connotation usually arises from the word for its meaning is “unwillingness to work.” Throughout Morley’s essay, he presents the attraction of laziness through his diction. “On Laziness.”…

To Be a Slob or Not to Be While some people still hold to the fact that working one’s hardest and not appearing to seem lazy is in one’s best interest, others may try to explain how making the minimum effort of doing things can have greater perks than trying to do the best of one’s ability. In this case, Andy Simmons, the author of the article “I’m a Slob, and You Should Be One Too”, fails to deliver an effective article that suggests being a slob is a good thing and negatively encourages others to join his stance. Andy Simmons’s claim that being a slob results in benefits is flawed because making up one’s bed can develop valuable habits, having a cluttered desk can lead to anxiety, and doing nothing instead of being active can have negative…

In both articles the there is good points about the subject of napping, should there be napping allowed in the work place? Does taking daily naps during the day really help? In my own opinion, even though some researchers have performed, studies that show a 34% performance improvement I don't think that being allowed to take naps in the work place is a good idea. I believe that allowing naps in the work place would put work tasks behind, that is time consuming and that it will make an employee feel that a late night is okay because they can just take a nap when they get to work.…
