In the times when Construction giants are burgeoning worldwide, I chose Structural Engineering for a simple reason - It is what I have always desired to do. Being born in a family related to construction business since last 20 years in SURAT, I always had exposure to it and it insinuated interest in me. Accompanying my dad on his site visit during my childhood vacations fascinated me. Hence my future field was pretty much decided since childhood with an aim of joining my dad’s business. Although, I have the chance to join dad’s business or any of the several construction companies around immediately after graduation, I believe I would not be serving justice to my education if I were to select the shorter way out. Gujarat Technological University to study an undergraduate civil engineering course. And I was very determined to make the most of the opportunity I got with an aim to have a gold medallist under my name. And after standing 1st in the class and 3rd in the university among 7000 students in civil engineering 1st semester result, I found my dream to be going on a right track. and since then my goal and passion has helped me maintain a CPI OF 9.02 and CGPA of 9.18 (till the end of 6th semester) with 2nd rank in the Gujarat Technological University and hopeful to work with the same diligence in the last two semesters as well and complete my degree as a topper of the university. I hope this can help me pursue my further studies with the distinguished university in the world as yours and help myself gain the valuable knowledge for a bright future and avail the excellent infrastructural facilities as well as the expert guidance under insightful faculties and achieve something that makes me and the university proud …show more content…
The vocational training on a bridge site of 10 days helped me know about the various components of bridge and the procedure adopted for erection of piers.
