Star Wars, by George Lucas, is an excellent movie. This movie is filled with original and mythic patterns. The ideas represented in the film are essential ingredients to human emotion. Star Wars is written based on the common structural elements of stages that made Star Wars and Luke's adventure is an example of The Hero's Journey. The three main parts of a hero’s journey are the departure, the initiation, and the return.
Luke’s departure is caused by a variety of factors. Luke Skywalker is introduced as a farm boy who is not yet aware of his capabilities. “Of course, nothing in mythic plots adheres to the conventions of realism; it is all guided to fulfill the hero's “destiny,”’ (Gordon). Luke's life is transformed when his uncle buys the unusual droids, C3PO and R2D2. He is pulled from obscurity into a world of adventure.
