Strong Study Ethic

Decent Essays
In high school, I had a language problem and it required me to study for more time than the others. Especially, the homework took a day to finish it and continued to stack up. It became mentally and physically tiring. Before I even start studying to learn new knowledge or getting ready for the tests and quizzes, I was already too tired from school works. I really was frustrated, but I always talked myself I should not stop here. I spent many more hours on assignments than my peers. My grade was not sharp increased but somehow, I developed a strong study ethic. I have prioritized my education and continued to advance my career, and I really do love studying now.

Honestly, I am not a very motivated person. I tend to try hard in school for the sole purpose of receiving an A. I never had thought of learning as an activity, but rather a priority. A priority that exists once again, for the purpose of getting an A. In my head, if I received an A, I would feel secure and my life would be able to move along smoothly. I started attending Lone star college right after high school, at first, I began with the typical high school graduate state of mind, which was that college was going to be a breeze and that it would all be fun and games; more worried about what was going on in my social life rather than studying the books. Especially since I had no real responsibilities to handle or much life experience. Around my first year of college, I started dating this girl and not long after we conceived our first son. Once this happened, my focus slowly shifted from school to working a full-time job at a welding shop in order to provide for my family. I still tried to attend class but was unable to find the balance between work, school and family and this reflected my grades.…

Good schooling is achievable to any student, however, good schooling is earned not given. Excellent education can be achieved in a variety of ways that an individual can do. Focusing on studies is one way to receive good schooling as asserted by Richard Rodriguez author of A Story Of Schooling.
