From the list of career choices that fit your interests and preparation level, list and provide descriptions of the top five career choices in which you are MOST interested. Rank order the list of career choices from what is most to least interesting to you. The career choices that you list may or may not be psychology related. I consider a career as a fish and game warden as [potentially] satisfying. Patrolling [and preventing] fish and game law violations would be rather interesting, as well as investigating crop damage. Working with wildlife, and biological data, could be a rather enjoyable career. I enjoy the outdoors and I’ve always considered if spending every day in such an environment would increase enjoyment or ruin some of the appeal.
4. What do you think the purpose of this assignment was and how may it be helpful in planning the rest of your undergraduate days?
I think that the purpose of this assignment is to place potential career placement in the forefront of student’s minds. Career exploration can assist individuals to consider skills and interests that best match potential occupations. An understanding of education, and job preparation, should assist undergraduate students to better align their paths with [potential] career goals. Constructing a goal-oriented path early in an individual’s undergraduate career should lessen the likelihood of some of the following: taking excessive classes, changing majors, gaining a degree outside of their desired career field, and wasting resources (time, money, education, etc.) on building a professional
