Frank Frank was a very active man until he experienced a right cerebrovascular accident, now he has a number of deficits that need to be resolved in order for him to return to his home and get back to his active life style. He has an amazing wife who is very supportive nd willing to do whatever she can to help him with his therapy. In this paper we are going to learn some strategies, interventions, and theories that can be used to improve Franks quality of life. We wll also lear the etiology behind a stroke and some signs and symptoms to look for that could possibly save your life. A stroke is a common deficit in adults. A stroke happens when blood can not flow to your brain (Mayoclinic, 2016). This deprives your brain from receiving the oxygen and nutrients it needs to function. Lack of oxygen in the brain can result in dead tissue. Dead tissue in the brain can result in a nu,ber of problems. There are many warning signs and symptoms that can either save your life or make the effects of your stroke less severe if they are caught early. The idea is to get them to recognize their left side. A few ways to do this is to approach them on the neglected side so they have to look in that direction. Another good method is to place objects on neglected side so they have to reach across. Anything to help them remember that side of their body exists is a good intervention.
