“About 6% of inmate’s assault each other with weapons snuck into the prisons’ (10% of inmates). Strip searches are basically a procedure that keeps out contraband such as drugs and weapons into the facilities. Strip searches should be allowed because it is for the prisoner’s safety as well as the guards, also to keep contraband out, and it is not a right it is mandatory. These searches should be allowed because it helps keep the guards safe especially since prisoners have committed assaults against the guards in the past. Prison guards should limit themselves on how many weapons and the type of weapons they bring into the cell.

This includes family members and friends as well, but inmates get desperate if they do not get it in a certain amount of time. Inmates will even bribe the guards thousands of dollars just to get a little box of cigarettes, once they get the guards trust that little box will turn into something more serious such as cocaine, marijuana, and cellphones, etc. (Contraband). Since the guards get more money by smuggling things in for the prisoners they get greedy and do it more often and in the end they do get caught, but if the warden or someone high ranked that is in charge of the facility catches the situation on time then there is a good chance that all this contraband could be kept out of the facility to keep the guards and inmates safe. The inmates commit the worst crimes to society so why shouldn’t they be strip searched.
