Many people in the United States have formed groups such as “Everytown for Gun Safety,” founded by “Mayors Against Illegal Guns,” former Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg and “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America,” founded by Shannon Watts. They have millions of people advocating stricter gun control laws such as “the universal background check” and “terror gap” laws. “Their goal is to raise awareness about gun violence and to pressure lawmakers to improve gun laws” Moms Demand Action Website. The groups are working with senators across the country such as Diane Feinstein and Charles Schumer, crusading for “common-sense gun control laws.” Their plan is to pay more money to lobby for the stricter gun control laws than the NRA can pay to block them.
