Strethorne-Personal Narrative

I stood looking through the dirty windows of the train station. The smell of trashcans and wet wood lingered in the dusty air of the old building. I tried to wait outside for her, but was quickly stopped by one of the conductors, he made sure to inform me that I couldn’t be on the platform until the train came to a complete stop. I was there to pick up a girl that I would meet for the first time. I never would have thought that my little ghost hunting zine could make it over three hundred miles, and spark the interest of a stranger. Her name is Julie. She could possibly be the girl that I’ve been so lazily looking for. But, unfortunately for me that was not the reason for her visit, this was pure business, not the business of making money …show more content…
Many of them where abandoned, which left the town of Sliverthorne a meca for ghost hunting.
I stopped in front of the house.
“There it is”, I said, turning off the car. The street light created a dim glow to the front of the house. All the windows on the first floor were boarded up, and the front door had an X of caution tape.
“Oh my…” Her eyes were wide as she looked at the house. “It is much bigger than it looked in the pictures, and would you look at those vines? There practically covering all that old brick, it’s as if nature is trying to protect it.”

“Wait. I thought that you said you had everything taken care of, and we were all good to

I’ve investigated with them before, Jennie and Rob. You’ll like them, there an interesting couple, if anything, it adds humor to the footage. But I’m sure you remember them from the stories in the magazine.”
We sat out front of the house for a half hour, I couldn’t help but get quick glances of her. Good thing I cleaned up the house, because Julie is a girl that I would most definitely bring home—a girl I’d be interested in impressing, the first in a long time.

It was a very cold but normal December day, everyone in town was doing what they usually do, take kids to school, go to work, get coffee and visit one another. Henry Dunkin was an ordinary 13 year old boy who was tall with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was very liked by the citizens in the town so you wouldn’t expect anyone to harm him, right? Two weeks ago on a Tuesday, this was a day like any other, the sun was shining and there was a chilly breeze just off the east coast. In the bakery up town, Henry was getting breakfast before school just like he always does.…

On my birth certificate, I am Edith Wragge. That was the name given to me by my first parents, back when we lived in a pokey tenement in a house with several other families. I was the youngest of twelve children, and was born right at the end of the war. Daddy was home with us because he’d been injured the year before; this was wonderful for us, because we got to have him around, and we knew he was safe, but it meant that he struggled to stay in work. Our mother took in washing, and did cleaning work, for some of the richer families in our neighbourhood.…

Still, Emily smile and nod, unable to utter any sound lest the tickling on her throat turned into a full blown coughing fit.…

My most valuable possession was my house. It wasn’t anything fancy or exquisite, but it was there that I had spent the precious moments, however few, with my beloved dad. I remember that we would spend hours playing, running around the arched, brightly lit corridors. On either side, I recall the large mahogany doors which would fluidly open to reveal ancient, chestnut-brown rooms with antique, twin bed frames which were confined within. I will never forget the uncanny gargoyles that were suspended onto the wall behind, the very same monsters who would assault my sleep and curse me with countless numbers of sleepless nights.…
